Applied Ethics Retreat: An Exploration of Mindful Education, Plum Village, France
Материал из Buddha World.
December 29th, 2011 - January 5th, 2012.
7-Day Retreat for educators, administrators, parents, anyone involved with education.
Please join this winter in Plum Village, France for this special gathering on Applied Ethics in education with our beloved Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh and the monks and nuns. This retreat hopes to bring together key stakeholders in education, teachers of different fields, administrators, policy makers and parents, offering a wide variety of perspectives on education at all levels. During this week-long gathering, we will embark on a journey of self-care, reflective dialogue, and taking innovative and inspiring action in education systems around the world.
The retreat also coincides with the Plum Village Holiday Retreat, so we will have the opportunity to celebrate the New Year together. The retreat will be facilitated by a group of monks and nuns working with Thầy on the Applied Ethics Initiative.
The retreat will offer you the unique opportunity to practice with and learn from internationally respected peace activist and teacher Thích Nhất Hạnh. As a participant, you will gain specific experience and increased knowledge of practical tools and mindful methods that are specifically relevant to educators, and will learn how to form and sustain mindful communities in schools, universities, and at home. We will also explore the workings of our bodies and minds and learn how to use the power of silence and self-care to increase clear thinking and action. We will also explore first-hand the challenges and opportunities in education across nations, and look at ways we can work together to address these challenges and possibilities.
Space is limited, and preference will be given to those who are involved with education. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to seeing you in this holiday!
